Technology for Pregnant women...

Well being pregnant I’ve learned about the technology that’s available to make the delivery much easier. It’s called epidural, that’s suppose to be the end of all pain during delivery. Well, I come from the sticks and from what I heard that it’s not an option here for women who deliver naturally. It is given to women who under go a c-section. It’s 2008, it should be at least an option for women who need or request it.

I forgot got to add to the new technology that is not offered in my region, 3D ultrasound. The ultrasound equipment that is used today, needs to be updated. The only places to get the 3D ultrasound nearest to my area is Quebec City or Montreal. I hear that it is pretty remarkable to see your baby in 3D inside of you. I could imagine, just to see your baby with the technology being used here is beautiful and a wonderful experience.

It most defineately should be available- I had to move away for the whole year of my pregnancy just to deliver with an epideral. This was 13 years ago-but still moving away to the states just so I could deliver pain free was quite drastic in a way- but I am glad I did. I was afraid of course-but really I hope technology in the sticks moves at a better pace and soon both for expectant moms and people like me who are still tortured by using dial-up at home.

Amanda...

Great postings. I enjoy reading your blog.

I like that you have made your blog personal. Stories and anecdotes are powerful tools. I would like for you to reflect deeper on the shifts taking place in living and learning. For instance, how would any of these stories be different from ten years ago?

Keep blogging...
